Three Watches in the Story of Jehu

Three Watches in the Story of Jehu

The Lord has given us many stories in the Bible, and I believe He carefully guided the people within them to fulfill their appointed roles. For that reason, I believe He values our efforts to understand the spiritual meaning behind these accounts. This reflects 1 Corinthians 2:13: “We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.”
This account is found in 2 Kings 9. When we seek to understand a scriptural story, we stand on firmer ground when its symbols are used consistently. Such accounts often carry rich prophetic meaning while also teaching sound moral principles. Together, they form interconnected parts of the larger story of the Gospel Age leading into the Kingdom Age. As 1 Peter 1:10-12 says: “Concerning this salvation, the prophets who foretold the grace to come to you searched and investigated carefully, 11trying to determine the time and setting to which the Spirit of Christ in which was in them was pointing when they predicted the sufferings of the Christ and the glories to follow. 12It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, when they foretold the things now announced by those who preach the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even the angels long to look into these things.”
The Story of Jehu and Jezebel Begins
2 Kings 9:1 Now Elisha the prophet summoned one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, “Tuck your cloak under your belt, take this flask of oil, and go to Ramoth-gilead. 2When you arrive, look for Jehu, son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi. Go in, get him away from his companions, and take him to an inner room. [Representing the Most Holy] 3Then take the flask of oil, pour it on his head, and declare, ‘This is what the LORD says: I anoint you king over Israel.’ Then open the door and run. Do not delay!” [Those whom the Lord has chosen to be his servants must run and not delay Habakkuk 2:2 as the Shulamite woman didn’t in Song 5:2-8.]
4So the young prophet went to Ramoth-gilead, 5and when he arrived, the army commanders were sitting there. “I have a message for you, commander,” he said.
“For which of us?” asked Jehu. “For you, commander,” he replied.
6So Jehu [Jesus] got up and went into the house [Temple] where the young prophet poured the oil on his head and declared, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anoint you king over the LORD’s people Israel. 7And you are to strike down the house of your master Ahab [Kings of this World] so that I may avenge the blood of My servants the prophets and the blood of all the servants of the LORD shed by the hand of Jezebel. [Catholic Church] 8The whole house of Ahab will perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male, both slave and free, in Israel. 9I will make the house of Ahab like the houses of Jeroboam son of Nebat and Baasha son of Ahijah. 10And on the plot of ground at Jezreel the dogs will devour Jezebel, and there will be no one to bury her.’” [This is telling us the plans the Lord has to take down Jezebel representing the Roman Catholic Church and the Kings of the earth that were aligned with her at the hands of our anointed Lord Jesus.]
Then the young prophet opened the door and ran. [Habakkuk 2:2 "Write down this vision… that a herald may run with it.”]
11When Jehu went out to the servants of his master, they asked, “Is everything all right? Why did this madman come to you?” “You know his kind and their babble,” he replied.
12“That is a lie!” they said. “Tell us now!” [This is how the world generally sees the servants of the Lord]
So Jehu answered, “He talked to me about this and that, saying, ‘This is what the LORD says: I anoint you king over Israel.’”
13Quickly, each man took his garment and put it under Jehu on the bare steps. [Reminding us of what they did with Jesus as he rode into Jerusalem Matthew 21:8] Then they blew the ram’s horn [the 7th trumpet] and proclaimed, “Jehu is king!” [This is the reaction of those who follow Jesus when they hear the Harvest Truth]
Jehu Kills Joram and Ahaziah
14Thus Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi, conspired against Joram.
Now Joram [The Pope] and all Israel had been defending Ramoth-Gilead against Hazael king of Aram [Representing Napoleon] 15but King Joram had returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he had suffered at the hands of the Arameans in the battle against Hazael their king. [This Represents the wounds the Pope received at the hands of Napoleon during the French revolution.]
So, Jehu said, “If you commanders [Princes of this world Revelation 17:16] wish to make me king, then do not let anyone escape from the city to go and tell it in Jezreel.” 16Then Jehu [Jesus] got into his chariot and went to Jezreel, because Joram was laid up there. And Ahaziah king of Judah [Representing the King of England] had gone down to see him.
The First Watch 1799
17Now the watchman standing on the tower in Jezreel saw Jehu’s troops approaching, and he called out, “I see a company of troops!” [The 1st watch 1799] “Choose a rider,” Joram [the Pope] commanded. “Send him out to meet them and ask, ‘Have you come in peace?’”
18So a horseman rode off to meet Jehu and said, “This is what the king asks: ‘Have you come in peace?’” “What do you know about peace?” Jehu replied. “Fall in behind me.” [Those sent to inquire of the truth do not come back to Babylon]
And the watchman reported, [The 2nd watch 1829 Luke 12:37-38] “The messenger reached them, but he is not coming back.” 19So the king sent out a second horseman, who went to them and said, “This is what the king asks: ‘Have you come in peace?’”
“What do you know about peace?” Jehu replied. “Fall in behind me.”
The Third Watch 1874
20Again the watchman reported, [The 3rd watch 1874 Luke 12:37-38] “He reached them, but he is not coming back. And the charioteer is driving like Jehu, son of Nimshi—he is driving like a madman!” [This is how those who follow the Pope see those who follow the truth when they come in contact with the harvest messenger’s message]
21“Harness!” Joram shouted, and they [the 3 unclean spirits coming out of the mouth of the Dragon, Beast, and False Prophet assembling them for the battle of Armageddon & Revelation 16:13] harnessed his chariot.
Then Joram king of Israel [Catholic Kings] and Ahaziah king of Judah [Protestant Kings] set out, each in his own chariot, and met Jehu on the property of Naboth the Jezreelite. [the stolen property story found in 1Kings 21]
22When Joram [Catholic Kings] saw Jehu, he asked, “Have you come in peace, Jehu?”
“How can there be peace,” he replied, “as long as the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel [The Catholic Church] abound?”
23Joram turned around and fled, calling out to Ahaziah, “Treachery, Ahaziah!”
24Then Jehu drew his bow and shot Joram between the shoulders. The arrow pierced his heart, and he slumped down in his chariot. [Reminding us of what happened to the Archduke Franz Ferdinand,The shot heard around the world]
25And Jehu said to Bidkar, his officer, “Pick him up and throw him into the field of Naboth the Jezreelite. For remember that when you and I were riding together behind his father Ahab, the LORD lifted up this burden against him: 26‘As surely as I saw the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons yesterday, declares the LORD, so will I repay you on this plot of ground, declares the LORD.’ Now then, according to the word of the LORD, pick him up and throw him on the plot of ground.” [Catholic Kings die in WW1 due to the blood guilt of Church State Union]
World War Two
27When King Ahaziah of Judah [Protestant Kings] saw this, he fled up the road toward Beth-haggan.
And Jehu pursued him, shouting, “Shoot him too!” [Protestant Kings shot in WW2]
So they shot Ahaziah in his chariot on the Ascent of Gur, near Ibleam, and he fled to Megiddo [2nd stage of Armageddon] and died there. [The Power of England Ends & Daniel 11:42] 28Then his servants carried him by chariot to Jerusalem and buried him with his fathers in his tomb in the City of David. [A royal burial for the Protestant Kings]
29([A Note for Chronologists] In the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab, [Bad King] Ahaziah had become king over Judah.)
Jezebel’s Violent Death
2Kings:9:30 Now when Jehu arrived [The Story Picture going back in time to the return of our Lord in 1874] in Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it. So she painted her eyes, adorned her head, and looked down from a window. 31And as Jehu entered the gate, she asked, “Have you come in peace, O Zimri [refers to the short‑lived usurper in 1 Kings 16 who murdered his king, seized the throne, and died miserably seven days later. Isaiah 5:20] murderer of your master?” [He has not come to bring peace but a sword Matthew 10:34]
32He looked up at the window and called out, “Who is on my side? Who?” [The call to separate from the Catholic Church “Come out of her my people” Revelation 18:4]
And two or three eunuchs looked down at him. 33“Throw her down!” yelled Jehu. [Revelation 18:2 he cried out in a mighty voice: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great…”]
So they threw her down, and her blood splattered on the wall and on the horses as they trampled her underfoot. [The treading of the wine press. Revelation 14:20, 16:17 and 18:1…]
34Then Jehu went in and ate and drank. [Of The Wedding Feast & Luke 12:35] “Take care of this cursed woman,” he said, “and bury her, for she was the daughter of a king.” [The Daughter gone evil]
35But when they went out to bury her, they found nothing but her skull [The Vatican City] her feet [Her followers] and the palms of her hands. [Her Priesthood]
36So they went back and told Jehu, who replied, “This is the word of the LORD, which He spoke through His servant Elijah the Tishbite: ‘On the plot of ground at Jezreel the dogs will devour the flesh of Jezebel. 37And Jezebel’s body will lie like dung in the field on the plot of ground at Jezreel, so that no one can say: "This is Jezebel.” [As we see today a number Catholic cathedral have become museums of a time gone by]
